The Wells Fargo Vault
The Wells Fargo Vault is a small, crumbling brick structure that
stands just off the road behind the Iowa Hill Monument. Boarded over at
some past time, a peek around the back of the building reveals a hole in
its rear wall. Inside sits an old safe, perhaps used by the express
agency to store the miners’ gold, bank drafts, or letters awaiting
shipment on the next stage out of town.
